What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

Spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors. The smell of God's country, and feeling the excitement of the unknown. 

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

One of the best days I've had in the field was hunting hogs in Texas on a deer farm. I got the chance to hunt every day for a week on an area that was overpopulated with feral hogs. What made it even better is that I got to spend that time with my Dad. Throughout the week we saw all kinds of wildlife including bobcats, coyotes, coon, trophy deer, foxes, and hogs. We also got the chance to catch monster Texas bass during the daytime! 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

I was born and raised on a small farm out in the country. The only way of life I knew was wrapped in the outdoors. As a kid I never wanted to be inside, and rainy days were the worst. Growing up we had a lake and 15 acres of woods on our property, there were always fish to catch and critters to hunt. My Father was my role model growing up, he was a very passionate outdoorsman. Now that I'm an adult and father, it has given me the desire to pass on this way of life and passion for the outdoors to my children and next generation in general. Each day of bad weather, or when I'm at work I crave the next opportunity to be on a boat or in the woods.

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

The outdoors and just getting time to see what God has Created.

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

Last year during the youth season, After 13 years of hunting with my Grandpa, I finally got my first deer with him. I know he won't be with me much longer, so I got that buck mounted. I loved that hunt because it was a great memory to make with my Grandpa.

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

I started hunting when I was four. My Grandpa showed me the passion for the outdoors, as his father did for him. I spend as much time as I can with my Grandpa. My father left when I was young and has never been around. So my grandpa filled that role, and has started me on this wonderful journey in the outdoors. I know it will never leave me. I love hunting because it doesn't just show me what God has made, but shows me the opportunities that we have in life to live and love the outdoors.

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

Simply being in the outdoors brings me inner peace.   

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

My best and most memorable days fishing typically don’t include my catching, but rather times spent introducing others to the sport I love. There is no greater feeling than watching someone have success while executing the things I've taught them. Even better is watching them get their personal best from my direction or help. 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

My best days afield have always been while spending time with my family. I grew up fishing river systems in Michigan, and I will never forget the memories made there with my family and friends. Success isn’t always determined by what you catch or have caught, but the lasting impressions those experiences make on you while spending time in the great outdoors!

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

My favorite thing about hunting and fishing is the 

connection we build with God’s country, it’s an amazing 

thing in the midst of a crazy world we live in today. I 

love to be able to participate in the harvesting of 

animals to help in population control and conservation.  

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

My best day in the field would be when I harvested my first deer. When I was 15 years old I spent all summer working several jobs and saving money to be able to buy all my own hunting equipment. No one in my family goes hunting or fishing, so it was on me and only me to learn how. That aspect made it especially hard for a teenager to be successful. I had many failed attempts before my first deer. I decided I was never going to give up, and when it finally happened, it made my first one so much more special. 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

My interest in hunting started over at my neighbor’s house as a kid. He had a bunch of nice bucks on the wall, and he even showed me some self-shot footage from some of his hunts. We would sit at talk about his time in the woods hunting, he’d light up when he talked about his experiences. Seeing his reaction just from talking about hunting made me want to try it. He became a big part of my hunting career as I killed my first deer on his property. It was a hard earned task, he made me earn it, and most importantly he taught me to respect the woods.

I maintain the lifestyle because it has become my way of life, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I’m honored to help with population control and all of the added benefits of hunting. It pleases me very much to be able to provide for my family in the most natural way.

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

My favorite thing about hunting and fishing is being out in nature and enjoying the freedom it brings. 

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

My very best day in the field came on Halloween​ ​2017. I​ ​told​ ​my​ ​girlfriend​ ​i​ ​was​ ​going​ ​hunting​ ​instead​ ​of​ ​taking​ the ​kids​ ​trick or​ ​treating.​ She​ ​asked​ "​why would I skip trick or treating​​?" I confidently said "because I'm going to shoot a monster." Sure enough I harvested my biggest buck to date with a
bow and arrow. 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

It ​all​ ​started​ ​with​ ​one of my Dad's good friends, Gene Watterson. He was kind enough to take​ ​me out​ ​hunting with him​ ​when I was young.​ ​Gene loaned ​me​ ​a gun​ ​and​ ​provided​ ​me​ ​with​ ​land​ ​to​ ​hunt, he​ ​even​ ​set​ ​us​ ​up​ ​and​ ​made​ ​sure​ ​we​ ​were ready​ ​and​ ​safe.​ ​I​ ​never​ ​succeeded​ ​when I was young, but the passion was born as I tried and tried.​ ​Gene​ ​passed away​ ​and​ ​left​ ​me​ with ​permission​ ​to​ ​hunt​ ​his​ ​land​. ​Shortly after he passed, my success began and I started harvesting ​deer​ ​year after ​year. Since then I've learned the practice of land and herd management, and I've applied that knowledge on the land Gene left me to hunt. I absolutely love​ ​this​ ​lifestyle,​ ​it​ ​keeps me​ ​​active​ ​and​ ​busy​, and reminds me of how thankful I am to Gene. I ​hope​ ​to​ ​pass my​ ​knowledge​ ​down​ ​to​ ​my​ ​kids​ ​as​ ​Gene​ ​did​ ​to​ ​me. Hopefully next year, I'll get a chance at another big buck!

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

My favorite thing about hunting and fishing is the chase and 
the feeling when I have success. I love continuing to learn 
new things every time I go out, and it's great to make new 
friends who are also outdoorsmen. 

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

I appreciate any day on the water, but who doesn’t like to tell a story of their fondest memories? When I was a teenager I was fishing in a small river located just a few miles from my house. I had fished this river for all my life, but this day was exceptionally different. It was a cloudy day and I was wading, something in the air just felt right. On the first cast I reeled in a 3lb smallmouth bass, then another, and another. I caught over a dozen May spawning smallies that day. To make the day even more special, my Father was with me, and together we caught a ton!  The biggest weighing in at 4½lbs. We had a blast and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything. The best thing about being an outdoorsman isn’t killing huge bucks or catching lots of fish, it’s the memories you are left with. 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

I’ve been hunting and fishing for as long as I can remember. I shot at my first buck with a .410 when I was 5 years old, and I’ve continued to live my life with a passion for the outdoors. My father is an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper and he has passed on the lifestyle to me. He has been a huge influence in my life and has helped me immensely by passing on his knowledge. The rush from hunting and fishing combined with a satisfaction of success is what drives me to continue my passion for the outdoors today. I can assure you I wouldn’t be successful in my everyday life without hunting and fishing.

What is your favorite thing about hunting or fishing?

My favorite thing about hunting and fishing are the memories made. I love introducing youth to the outdoors. I also really enjoy hunting 
and fishing with my kids specifically. 

What was your best day in the field hunting or fishing?

My best day in the field was actually my first goose hunt with my son, my best friend, and our bird dog Goose. We worked hard to train Goose, and he got his first successful retrieve that day. Even more importantly, my son shot his very first Goose the same day. 

Tell us about how you started in the outdoors, and why do you maintain the lifestyle... 

When I was just 8 years old I shot my very first deer, and I've been a die-hard hunter ever since. Sometime after that I started running a trap line with one of my Dad's good friends, which led me to eventually running my own coon hounds. I followed a natural progression of deer hunting, to trapping, and now waterfowl hunting. I was addicted to waterfowl hunting from the first time I tried it. I maintain the lifestyle because there is nothing better than making memories with my kids and other sportsmen.
